Repairing The Car
Written by: Bubba Stan - the

I use to change my oil. Now my mechanic is one of my best friends.
I have three new belts to put on the Blazer. I pulled it into the
garage (because the wife took my Cadillac to the airport because
her AC does not work. No belt you see.) Bought the belts a week
ago. The back one broke but there are two in front of that one that
have to come off - may as well put on three new ones!
Pondered taking it to a mechanic.

Just a note here!
Mechanic wanted $144.00 to install three
new belts. Called Firestone for an estimation. $156.00. NOT!

I started to raise
the hood - burned the heck out of my arm and
hands. 100 plus degrees outside - hotter in the garage. Had a couple
o beers - waited for it to cool off.
It got
hotter. Ran cold water
all over it, under the hood and out side on all of the metal. Cool now.
Was going to move it so I could clean the garage but it won't start.
Got my old squeegee, cut off the broom handle and put the squeegee
on the handle so I could reach under the Blazer. (wife is going to
get another one of them dang $50.00 brooms I guess)

Cleaning the garage
to get all the water out so I can continue. Now
the car is hotter than heck again. I am dripping wet from sweat!
My eyes are burning from the sweat. I am moving boxes that got
wet so they will dry out. Stuff falling out of the bottom of the boxes.

Moving stuff to dry places in the kitchen and breakfast nook.
I will absolutely
have to clean and polish this mess up before
wife gets home!

Found my fan on a stand fan and turned it on.

It got too hot
and burned up. I bumped my head on the new shelving my wife
put up, I do not know when she did that. Got tangled up in her
underwear and other such delicate things, hanging on the rope
clothes line she has added on my side of the garage.

She says I never go
out there anyway so she used the space.
Tripped and dang near hung myself on the new clothes line.
Have a new large
bandage on the rope burns now. It ain't
pretty but it holds the goop I put on it in place??
Back inside cooling off. Having a beer!

Got a DWI once, 15
or 20
years ago. Not again. I ain't suppose to drive after even one drink, but I tried
to move the Blazer back to the front of the house. It still won't start!

Called my mechanic.
Closed on Saturday! Firestone too busy to
get it out before Tuesday. I will take it to my mechanic Monday
after wife gets back from North Carolina.
Wife called and
asked how I was coming along. I told her I was
out of beer, but I have enough Bourbon and wine to last me until
she gets home, and would she please stop on the way at the Liquor
store and re-stock me?

I am too sick to go
myself and I have
nothing to drive anyway?? El Camino needs some work on it too.
Wondering if my
mechanic will charge me extra and use the belts
I bought. Yep, I used to change my oil and do my own tune ups a
while back. Not anymore. I have no idea of why I started to do this
belt project myself.

Seemed like a good
idea at the time. The belts
only cost 36 bucks. Thirty minutes of labor and walla, it should
be finished. Right? NOT!!!

Women really are smarter than men!

Thank the good Lord
I had to come check my emails??? I have
to download the new pics from one of my camera disks that have
some of the pictures of our trip to California two months ago. I
knew I'd get around to it, I don't care what the wife says!!!!
Now where did I put that dang USB cable or the Sandisk
thingy to enable me to download the pics.

Oh well it is
going to be a long weekend I can already tell!! I think
I'll walk down to the restaurant and eat this evening. Kitchen is
too dirty to eat in!!!!

Now what the heck
was I going to do to my El Camino pickemup?
I know I remember that this project will save me a lot of money too!

Finally got the
Blazer started. Busted the muffler on the curb.
Well that does not take much time to fix. I'll just do that when I
work on the El Camino next week????

I wonder if that cop
is going to write me a ticket
for parking on the grass????
BEEN THERE.......DONE THAT
