Who IS Bubba?????

Well now who the heck is Bubba?

First let me tell you that Miss Kat is one of my best friends. She has been a good friend to my wife and I for several years. She is a fine lady that puts up with my nonsense and silly stories. She even had the nerve to put some of my ramblings on her Web Pages. She is nice that way. We love her a lot.

Well I am Bubba!

Bubba is a "youngish" old man in Texas, now ready for Social Security and such. Getting up there you know. I have done OK for the most part in life. Fortunately I had a great, dependable manager for my business that was with me for over 14 years. Business is over for a while for me.

I am not a very formal person but my wife says I clean up pretty good and she attends some of those bow tie occasions, if someone can get me to attend. I prefer my jeans and a t-shirt however, I spent a lifetime in suits and ties. But now casual is good, as the world seems to be starting to understand. Too casual at times it seems to me.

I’m not rich with money but I sure have a lot of friends and family. So I am just fine. I just want to add that I have some other nick names also. I am called Pop, Pop the Old Fart, Pee Paw, Sweet P, Unka Stan, Ornery and other unmentionables. I just try to come when I am called for supper.

I have 6 kids and 23 grand kids. Yes, Christmas is getting terribly expensive. But we do what we can. I have a great wife, and she takes great care of me. I do tease her a bit but she knows that I love her tremendously.

I have lots of friends of various ages. I have family all over the place.

I like young and old and in the middle people. I have no reason to try and figure anybody out. I just love folks. Some are good and some are bad or partly bad. I never met a Saint but I sure met a lot of good folks that were close to saintly. I’ve met a rotten one or two along the way also, but most are good in most of their ways. I like folks!

I don’t have much to say about myself except I like football and children and good folks and lots of toe tapping music. I like country, jazz and easy listening too. Although I have a very good friend that is an opera singer and quite well known around the world, I just can't seem to get my interest going in that direction.

I like to have folks over for Bar-B-Q and a back yard party. I love my kids and my grand kids. I love to watch Disney movies with my grandkids, well not all of them at once of course. If you really want to have some fun go watch a grandson play T-ball. That will make you happy and you will laugh a lot. Of course some of the parents can get a bit excited these days, if you know what I mean.

I dislike politics and liars. I dislike thieves. I dislike those who prey on the less fortunate. I like pretty women a lot (to look at with my wife's permission of course). I like honest people. I like everyone, until they try to mess me around. That makes me madder than an old wet hen. Mess with my children or grand children and you are not wanting to finish our your life expectancy.

I have done some folks wrong in life, but I never meant to do that. It just sort of happened when I was not paying attention and not thinking in the right direction or something like that. I tried to make the right decisions but man did I make some whopper mistakes in life. I never meant any harm to any one. Well I did bust a nose or two when it needed to be done to them. Got mine busted too, and I probably needed it too. I am through getting upset at things now though, and I am just having fun while I can. Mellow is much nicer by the way.

My Mom passed on in 2003 and I miss her a lot. I have had a good life and it isn’t over yet, but the end is drawing closer every day. I have been a lot of places across this world and I’ve had a lot of good times. I haven’t done all I wanted to do, but I’m not dead yet either. God and I are negotiating on when I’m a going to go to visit Him. I figure he will ultimately decide that point.

Life is so good. Just stop and smell the roses and pay attention to your friends and family. They are all you really have in life.

That is bout it for my piece. I just wish I had know what I know now about 45 years ago. Life would have been so much neater if I had.

Y’all have fun and love life now. It will do you well. I could get silly here and talk about a lot of things. But I won’t. Just have fun and love life!

Bubba says to do that. Remember – a smile and a hug will take you further than anything else in the world. Except winning the lottery probably would not hurt my feelings and I expect I would go a long way traveling! I could sure have fun with a few million dollars. I could spoil a bunch of people with that! If any of you have a few extra millions I would be happy to spend it for you and save you the time and trouble.

So long for now, and remember to giggle when you can because it is really good for you! Don't take life too seriously because it is not forever. We are just passing through you know.
