That’s me the tree

When I went to bed the other night

I was happy as could be

I dreamt I was walking in the bush

Then something dreadful happened to me

I was stuck steadfast in my tracks

And my head began to swim

My legs became a tree trunk

Whilst my arms turned into limbs

Tree limbs were sprouting everywhere

Even from my swimming head

I had a knothole for a belly button

And a place for squirrels to make their bed

Tree branches to hold a bird’s nest

And leaves to give them shade

I am not impressed with being a tree

Or playing this nightmarish masquerade

Oh sandman can you help me here

Awaken me from this misery

Is this your idea of a sick joke?

Turning me into a stupid tree

Next time use your imagination

Turn me into something that I’d like

Perhaps a new bicycle seat

On some pretty brunettes bike
